With today's bitter temperatures and drizzly weather, it seems like the perfect time for a reminder regarding the procedures involving temporary closure of the bridge over the dam to vehicular traffic whenever there is a potential for frost or ice to form on the bridge.

Security staff will erect barriers and update signage to close the bridge when the air temperature is 40 degrees or below, or whenever the officer-on-duty determines the bridge cannot be safely crossed in a vehicle. Unless otherwise noted, the pedestrian walkway on the bridge over the dam will remain open. When temperatures remain consistently over 40 degrees, or the bridge conditions improve, the roadway will be reopened for vehicles.
