The mission of Lake Junaluska is to be a place of Christian hospitality where lives are transformed through the renewal of soul, mind, and body. The Junaluskans, a volunteer organization of Lake Junaluska Assembly, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is committed to carrying out this mission by providing monthly activities for personal enjoyment, fellowship, education, and spiritual enrichment.
Everyone who lives at Lake Junaluska or loves Lake Junaluska is encouraged to become part of the Junaluskans by contributing each year a minimum of $10 per person (not household). Donations in addition to this minimum will enable the Junaluskans to accomplish much more. Remember, we are a non-profit tax-exempt organization; and you do not have to live at the lake or own property at the Lake to be a member. Junaluskans provide numerous opportunities for service to the Conference Center.
The Junaluskans meet the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. This is a business session where a variety of activities/programs sponsored by the Junaluskans are highlighted. A monthly newsletter, “Lake Views and News”, is distributed. Another source of communication is the Junaluskans email service which goes to all those who provide their email address. Junaluskans members are also listed in the Junaluskans directory.
The Junaluskans have a monthly dinner meeting, including outstanding entertainment, January-May, September-November on the third Tuesday of the month, with a special Christmas dinner in December. We also sponsor vesper services, book reviews, monthly fellowship groups, spring and fall chorus concerts, Clothes to Kids, support for Aviemore (an older-adult housing project), college scholarships, and our annual Flea Market in June, which is our major fund raiser. We invite you to join the Junaluskans.
