Lake Junaluska Resilient Debris Boom Project

This project involves the installation of two floating "debris booms"—specialized heavy-duty barriers—at the Richland Creek entrance to Lake Junaluska. The primary goal is to capture floating trash and storm debris, such as tree trunks and litter, before it reaches the dam. By keeping the spillway clear, this project helps prevent flooding and protects the long-term structural health of the Junaluska Dam during major rain events. To maintain recreational access, the design includes a dedicated passage to ensure kayakers and other personal watercraft can continue to navigate the area safely. https://lakejunaluska.com/online-store/resilient-debris-collection-system/
